    Great too to see Lula back in Brazil even though one waits with some trepidation to see how well the result is accepted – particularly by the military. I suppose too that the mid-terms and the possibility of a Republican President in the US in two years (whether or not it’s Trump) cannot bode well for Nicaragua. Then again Nicaraguans show us what to do….. just get on with what we can get on with.

    1. Thanks Alan. Yes, the Nicaraguans have the great advantage of a high level of food self-sufficiency, whixh means they should be more resistant to sanctions than are Cuba and Venezuela. It is going to be very interesting to see if the change in Brazil affects these hemispheric issues – it is more difficult for Biden to ignore Lula than perhaps any other L American leader.
